Rubrics
-
Rubistar - This is an online program that
allows you to generate your own rubric in many
areas including oral presentations, reading,
art, math, music, science, work skills,
multimedia and research. It looks like
something that may be of interest, very easy
to use.

Education Portals |
|
The following sites are well organized,
comprehensive, easy to navigate, up-to-date, and
searchable. They contain lesson plans, classroom
tools, teaching tips, education news, and
tutorials. This list is by no way all-inclusive. |
-
Discovery School - This site has
everything and it's all free. Categories are
For Students, For Teachers, For Parents, and
Store. At the bottom left is a link to
Kath Schrock's Guide for Educators.
Classroom tools include Lesson Planner,
PuzzleMaker, Quiz Center, and Worksheet
Generator. There are tutorials and how-to
guides within each category. You can even save
everything to a Custom Classroom Account which
is set up for you after you register -- but
remember, it's free! Read all lesson plans
carefully to be sure they are in alignment
with your curriculum. Current or controversial
subject matter must be used with extreme care.

-
Education World - This site calls itself
"The Educator's Best Friend". The index page
is indexed, organized and quite useful. Be
sure to scroll down the whole page. It also
has a great section on Professional
development. They also offer a free
subscription to their newsletters.
|
-
Scholastic - Another excellent resource.
The index page divides into two main
categories: Teacher Resource Center and Online
Activities Center. It also matches standards
with activities. Don't miss Teachers' Timely
Topics for good advice and how-to classroom
information. Scholastic also hosts Teacher
Magazine online. Be sure not to miss the
Cyberhunts and
Activities offerings.

Treadwell's
