Parenting Sites

Parent Institute Newsletters

RIPIN - Rhode Island Information network is a statewide, nonprofit agency that provides information, training, support and

advocacy to parents seeking help for their children.

National PTA - Information on the organization's aims, efforts in Washington DC on behalf of children, parental involvement

and more. Lots of back to school help also.

Children's Software Press - Here you will find some useful information about software for children. The resource guide is

particularly helpful, including information on guide books, Internet books, teacher's resources, organizations, and software

companies.

Crayola - This web site has some really neat things to offer. One of the most useful for parents is their stain removal tips.

You can search by staining product and by item stained and they will give you tools to use and a procedure!

Very helpful when you have a creative youth around!

Family Education Network - This is a huge site devoted to families and to "educational, safety, and family-related issues."

You'll find current events issues with an educational twist, help with college and with learning disabilities, "Brain Busters"

to get kids in the mood for homework, a list of signs that you may need to seek professional help for your child, and much,

much more. American tragedy resources,  homework helpers, holiday hints and more on this great site.

Family.com on Raising Kids – part of the Magic of Disney site

Gifted and Talented Nieman Enhanced Learning Center - This Center enriches the education of gifted students in

Shawnee Mission, Kansas. While the site details the program and its projects, it also contains excellent lists of

Web resources for parents and teachers of gifted and talented children.

Parenting Special Needs – This you need to know about Special Education, Special Children, and Challenged Parents

Parenting.com – Get your information from the same source as the news programs

Raising Teenagers – Parenting of adolescents

Surfing the Net with Kids - Barbara J. Feldman reviews several great related sites each week for newspapers across the country.

This site contains those excellent reviews, available by topic or chronologically. This is a wonderful source of interesting material

on the Web, whether you’re surfing with kids or not!

Young Investor Website - Liberty Financial’s Young Investor Web Site allows kids to play some games, visit the library,

and learn about investing. The Parents section is particularly good, containing a college cost calculator, the advice

of the wonderful Dr. Tightwad, and more.
